I have a 1994 Ford Ranger with the factory Splash graphics...I recently removed all the graphics with a blow dryer. Most came off completely but on one side the glue residue still remains. I was told about a 3m glue removal product on the market. Does anyone know about this product and where I might purchase some..any other ideas are appreciated....Thanks in advance.

What you need is a tool that can be bought from any body supply store , there are a couple different types but essentially what it is , is an eraser that you can put in a drill and litterally erase the stripe and glue with no harm to the paint .I use this tool all the time when doing paint jobs , its way easier that trying to use a heat gun then have glue left over , it gets rid of everything .

Outlaw is right. I used one to remove the factory beltline stripes on my Suburban. They came right off and the paint was not harmed at all.

There are two 3M products that will remove any kind of adhesive - #08984 "General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner" (comes in a red quart can), and #03607 "Adhesive, Tar, and Wax Remover" (comes in an 8-oz. black can). Any good auto parts store or automotive paint store will have both of them. The #08984 is great stuff - I use it for cleaning nearly everything.

I would use the 3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover that JohnZ mentioned. The stripe removing wheels that outlaw mentioned work great, but since you've already removed the decal the 3M cleaner will finish you up.
I would recomend lightly buffing the sides of the truck so you can't see where the old decals were.

Thanks for all the input!!!..I will definitely try the 3m Adhesive Remover and let you know if it did the trick for me. I have tried other glue removals but since the door panels are vertical, others just drip down the side...Is this 3m adhesive like a gel? Am curious about the eraser wheel also...Can you tell me who makes it and what the actual name of it is...Thanks again..snakes

The adheasive remover is thin, but it will work great. Just put it on the residue let it sit a little while, then I like to use a plastic (bondo) spreader to remove the glue. You might have to repeat a couple of times to get it all off.
I'm not sure the part #'s of the stripe wheels but I can find out. 3M had two types.

I use the 3m general purp. it makes an easy job of removing even old duct tape glue. The trick is to keep the surface wet, and wipe off, I just use a few cloths
