: Rusty drip rails

I have a 67 that originally had a vinyl roof that has the normal rust around the back glass but also has rust in the drip rails over both doors. The rust does not run the entire length of the drip rails. It varies from slight surface rust to areas that light shows through. The rails have not been blasted or buffed so I'm sure how much metal is going to be left once that is done. Can the drip rails be replaced or is there another fix for this problem?

You'll more than likly just have to cut out the bad areas and patch them in. If it is has some really bad spots hopefully you can find a car at a junk yard to get good metal to patch with. You could also section on a complete roof w/drip rails, but it would have to be almost terrible to need that. You'll have to just dig in and make a judgement call.

The big thing that you have going for you is your car came with a vinyl top(that is if your going to put it back on). I think I would at least try to patch it 1st, cause putting a roof on is alot of work. Either way, you need to find a good donor car.
