This is probably a no-brainer but how do you remove the chrome trim around the windows. Yes, I am a beginner.

A tool is made for that specific purpose. It is available from any of the reproduction parts houses for about $10.00 I think.

I've heard you can put tape on an old bottle opener and it's supposed to work well. The tape is to keep it from scratching. I have not tried this method though.

Are you talking about the windshield? If so there is a flat tool that goes between the glass and the trim. You hook onto each clip and pull down releasing the trim. I caution as any wrong pressure on the glass and it's all over. I speak from experience
