I am having problems with my dome light fuse
well there is other stuff on that fuse, but whatever

all the contacts in the fure box are a little rusty, but most of them are still working and carrying current to the fuse

but the dome light fuse is causing me problems, do you have any suggestions to improve the connection between the fuse and clip?
Thanks
Jon

Jon, I am not sure exactly what you mean. Are you referring to just a bad connection because of rusty contacts or is one broken? If it's just rust on the contact, use a piece of fine sandpaper to clean the contacts. If it is a broken contact, you will have too replace the fuse box. Very expensive! Ouch!

well so far i am lucky and none of the contacts are broken, just rusty

how do you get a piece of sand paper in where the fuse goes?
i have scraped lots of rust off with picks and small screw drivers, but the connection is still intermittent

Disconnect the battery, wrap a piece of fine sandpaper around a pencil and working from a angle, turn the pencil inside the clips. They should come out real clean. Next, squeeze the clips a little with a pair of pliers so it will make a good connection with the fuse. You may want to use a little no-ox on the clips to prevent them from corroding.

thanks i will try the idea with the pencil

and whats no-ox? is that like di-electric grease? i had thought about that but wasnt sure it would help until i had a good connection
