Yesterday my Son and I finally started installing the outer rocker on the driver side of our '69 X-44.
The inner rocker is next, and I've got a question.
With both the inner and outer rockers being new, both lower lips have no drilled out spot weld holes. Structurally, it seems putting the plug weld holes in the outer rocker would be best(thinner metal). But aesthetically, drilling the holes in the inner rocker is appealing.
How do the experts approach this?
I may be over-analyzing this, but rockers are important.
Thanks,
Joe and Jeff

You must weld from the thinner metal to the thicker for a secure weld.
