The trans cooling lines in my '67 have been hacked into a couple times, they are bent, cut for a trans cooler, etc. They look hammered...
What have you guy's done for cooling lines? I'm debating an Aeroquip type set-up, or just some rubber hose, or new factory (aftermarket) steel lines.
Just interested in your opinions. The car is just a weekend hobby car. Small block with a 350TH, and headers. It's not a track car, or a restored show car-so I'm wide open to ideas.
Thanks guys!!

You can buy pre-flared steel line at your local auto parts store for very little money and bend it to fit.

If cost is an issue and you have the time and patience bend your own hard lines. But there are lots of replacement pre bent kits out there that are a lot easier. Please don't just slap in some cheep parts store hose. If you don't want to mess with hard lines. Aeroquip has a nice push-lock set up that's pretty simple to work with, and is a lot stronger than plain rubber hose.

I know from experience the hose will leak, go with the OEM lines.

Can not just use any hose either. Too much pressure,They do make high pressure line but I would get the pre-bent lines for ease of install.

the prebent lines from resto catalogs fit pretty darn close, only need a few tweaks. Our sponsor has them Im sure. Ground Up logo link is at the top of the page

Unless you use braided line and compression (AN) fittings, there is a good chance the flexible rubber hoses will leak. The rubber hose will lose it's elasticity with the oil & heat and will fail to provide a tight seal on the hose barbs. You need to be torquing the hose clamps periodically, but the point will come where they just can't hold any tighter and you'll strip the worm drive.
It would have probably been cheaper for the OEs to use rubber hose, but I'll bet they didn't for the above reason/s.
I've had all 3 over the years, -rubber hose, braided line and steel line.
The braided line is easy, will not leak, but it is expensive.
The steel line is actually much neater and cheaper and best if you want an OE appearance.
The rubber hose with barbs and hose clamps, expect to replace with either of the first 2 after a short while.

I made my own using straight sticks of steel tubing from a parts house with the correct flares and nuts on them. A decent tubing bender suitable for the job is inexpensive. Since it's difficult to accurately bend a continuous line from the trans all the way to the radiator, I did each of my lines in 2 pieces, and used a brass compression union in between. Very inexpensive and looks great. It did take the better part of a day to do.
