Hey I just got a 72 marro and after driving it I finally figured out what was wrong. One of the wheals was allways rubbing after I hit a hole the tire will hit the quarter panel. So I look at the aligment and I figure out that since it was hit from the side the entire sub frame is bent. What do you guys recomend, is there any shortcuts? Do I have to put a new one on or bend back the existing one? How hard is to do this by myself? I am eventually putting a new motor in this car so should I do it at the same time? How long does it take? Your answers would be gratly apriciated.

There are several issues that come to mind. I'm not trying to be picky, just to make sure I understand the problem - You say the tire hits the 1/4 panel but you say the subframe might be bent. The subframe is in the front of the car and the 1/4 panels are in the rear so I'll assume you are refering to the front fender that the tire hits.
You could have a bent subframe or a mis-aligned one if someone re-installed it incorrectly. How do the sheet metal panels line up on the car?
Unless you are a frame man with a frame machine, it is next to impossible to straighten a subframe.
Changing the subframe by yourself is possible but it's easier with 2 people.
Measure your car diagonally (X pattern) many times first before you tear off your subframe. Maybe it needs a re-alignment from a previous installation.
A good frame shop can pull the subframe into position in many cases but not always. You could check a few prices to see what you are getting into first but a bent subframe will EAT tires in most cases.

Well this is the deal, I figured the subframe is bent because before I got the car it had a new left fender. Now when I look at the engine compartament from the top I can see that on one side there are a couple cm more than on the other. Some people told me it is the subframe. I imagine the car got hit before I got it and they did not bother putting a new subframe in it. From the other side it never eats tires. The aligment is good and on the freeway the car goes straight. I do not know what else it could be but I was about to go get a compleatly new subframe and slap it in. Any sugestions?
