Ok, here's my woes.. I have a 468 bbc in my 69 camaro with a 177 weiand blower. I just installed a holley HP 950. Unbeknowest to me the carb only had one vaccum port so I had to get a one inch carb spacer, drill/tap it for the extra vaccum ports I need. So, with the carb now sitting one inch higher it threw my throttle linkage out of wack and it now has a tight spot just as you start to move the accelator pedal. What can I do to fix it? I have thought of going with the throttle cable assembly and doing away with the linkage. What will fit on the 69 and where can I get it? Thanks...

You might give Lokar a call. They do a lot of custom linkages and things, started out with street rods, now into PT and such. They should have just what you need(custom cable throttle for BBC w/blower), and probably in nice pretty SS braid and billet, too!

i have seen guys that drilled and tapped the carb baseplate for the vacum port.
cant you do that instead of using the spacer?

Isn't there a spot you can drill and tap the intake for a vacuum fitting?

Thanks for the input guys. I looked on the lokar website and it looks like they may have what I need. I am going to call them tomorrow to find out for sure. I really don't want to drill the intake or the carb baseplate. I think the cable assembly is the way I want to go with this. I really appreciate the input you have given. TC members are the best! I'll let you all know how it comes out. Thanks again.

Called Lokar today. They make everything I need to make it a cable setup instead of linkage. Gas pedal, cable, bracket and of course I had to order their brake pedal/emergency pedal to match the gas pedal. $230.00/2 day air delivery. Thanks again for all the input...
