I made an attempt to install windshield mouldings on a 68 Camaro today. After fighting it for a while I got it to stay(the top piece) but it did not look like it was really on good. One end kept popping up. Am I doing something wrong? The windshield was removed and had clips installed recently. Is there any kind of putty or sealer other than what is holding the glass in place that would help keep the moulding in place? Also are there any particular brand of moulding that works better than others. This stuff I have is made by Corvex and is really light aluminum. What were the factory mouldings made of. Thanks

Windshield mouldings were polished stainless. They interchange 67-68-69. Do yourself a favor and buy a set of originals. You can pick them up for under $50 on ebay or swap meet.

My originals were scratched and dinged, but with a few hours of work, they are near perfect. If you still have your originals, it might be worth it to referbish them.

Check with Camaro Concepts in Houston, he should have a pile of originals.
