Hi Guys,

I have a 67 that the old owner sent me two sets of hubcaps for, along with the original rims. He had added rally's at some point. Question is what were the hubcap options in 67, and any pics any where so I can put the right set on?

I was just asking this same question so I am interested in the response you might get. I though there was two option, simulated wire wheels, and mag wheels, but I could be completely off base. I might be interested in the second set you don't use. I am looking for 14" wheels and hubcaps. Let me know.

1967 camaros had three available hubcap's
#1 the dog dish or (POVERTY) caps
#2 the full wheel cover's option PO1
#3 the mag hubcaps

I just got done painting my wheels and putting my PO1 factory cap's back on mine these were from what I can tell the most common ,,,,

He sent two sets. 1 set was a poverty type set, but not like the 69 poverty caps you see, it was almost like the center's on the rally caps, with the indentations from top to bottom with the bowtie in the middle. The other set looks just like the pics above.

One set came on this car, and the other off a 67 nova that he had. He put rally's on both, and was a nut for saving the original parts.

I am getting the L30/M20 ready for sale and want to put it back original.

If the P01's did not come on Nova's, then by default they (pic above) are for the Camaro.

I am going for 100% pure bone stock on my 67 RS I still lack some small stuff it's been fun fixing this car up , I have a set of the dog dish ones too but I don't like them as well as the po1 hubcaps and besides they came on my car as far as I know so I am going to stick with them ,

Here's a pic of the Dog Dish ones, any ideas? I guess these were on the Nova unless the 67 Nova came with P01's as well.

those are correct for 1962 to 1967 nova and 67 only camaro , 68 69 camaro dog dish are different , if you put those on your car it would be correct if you like those , myself I think the po1's look better but the dog dish has a look nobody can say isn't cool !! either one's will be good ,

There were actually 4 different hub caps for 67.
#1 the dog dish or (POVERTY) caps - the STD cap.
#2 the full wheel cover's option PO1
#3 the mag hubcaps option N96
#4 the simulated wire wheel option P02

The picture of the P01 caps is correct. The picture of the dog dish cap is close, but the center was painted different. The bowtie was black and around it was not painted.

RS3SDL2MG ,

Did you paint the wheels white?

I have a C-C code 67 and the wheels were always black with the same caps.

I am 2nd owner.

You bring up a good point. The only wheels that were painted body color were the ones used with the standard "dog dish" caps. All of the other wheels were painted black.
I can't tell in the picture of the car with the P01 caps, what the wheel color is.

I painted the wheels white same color as the car they seem to have always been white ?? I have seen several car's 67 68 and 69 with the wheel's painted the same color as the body ?? I thought it was correct and beside's that I LIKE IT !! but also I have seen car's with the wheels just black ?? so I guess my camaro vintage knowledge is scetchy on this ?? someone let us know how it is ??? hey I was all but close on everything else LOL!!!!

The original wheels on this car were not painted. So I guess that is one more pointer that it came with P01's. ie, did the cars with poverty caps always get the wheels painted?

I ordered my car with dog-dish on it and i still have them and my original rims. I installed Cragar deep dish chrome reverse as soon as I got the coin and could get to KCMO where a Speed Shop was at!!

And I have to say, if I was going to run dog-dish, I would run the later I think Nova Bowtie "baby-moons" b/c to me they are WAAAAAY COOOOOL!!

Here's the cool "By Giles" tag (I wonder if they were playing off of the "By Berger" thing, or it was just common to say that in the 60's?
This car was bought new in Port Jefferson. 67 L30/M20, Bolero red / Black Interior

that SS cap was used in the 60's but you could not get it on a 67 camaro , they did offer it in 68 for the camaro ,

Thanks, now that I got em figured out. I still need to ad the white pin stripe.
Then she goes on the block. I just got a 70 Monte Carlo SS 454, a new personal car that needs a light resto. I am ape on the firstgen montes (after camaros of course:) ). There is a cool site www.firstgenerationmontecarlo.com that has loads of info on them.

No! These caps were not used on the 67 Camaro. I have heard that Brent's car has the SS caps, but I would say that the dealer probably switched them before Brent even saw the car.
