Most of the headlight buckets I see are painted black. However I pulled a pair off a 68 a few years ago, and they are galvanized. I'm confident they were original. Were galv and painted used interchangably? Were any 69's built with galvanized buckets? I'm trying to decide whether to use my black ones, or galvanized ones.
thanks.

The buckets that hold my headlamps are galvanized, but the headlamp housings behind them are semi-gloss black.
I don't know if I've ever seen a headlamp bucket, besides the re-pops, that were painted??
I've owned 4 first gens?? Anyone else?

PDQ, I bought a NORS one from Ricks, a few years ago, and it was black. My original one was black, too, but I have no clue if it was evr painted. The galv ones just need a little cleaning to be excellent. If they are correct, That's what I'll use.
Thanks,
