I want to cover the complete trunk and the complete floorpans and all suspension-parts with POR-15. I don't care about the correct color, I only care about the protection quality as the Netherlands tend to be wet every now and then. (Won't drive when wet, but the air-moisture can also harm metal)
I already have a trunk mat and the new carpet will also cover all the paint-work up.

Howmuch POR-15 would I appx. need to cover :
-Rear axle

-Complete top of floor pans (front/rear)

-Complete trunk

-Suspension front/back like wishbones(?)

-complete front of the car

-Inner door panels

As my '67 is Swiss-made, a tar-based(?) protection-layer is covering everything underneath the car so I don't have to covet this.

I 'borowed' the pics from this website http://www.chevyasylum.com/67camaro/67camaro01.html this site has helped me to get eager to get started....it showed me what to do....Thanks graemlins/beers.gif

I would estimate 2 to 3 quarts. About a quart to do all your suspension parts and a quart and 1/2 for the trunk and interior. Plus you will have some extra if you need it. Make sure you use the gloves and a foam brush ( buy some extra`s )and when you seal the can put some plastic between the lid and container and store it upside down.

Prostreet knows of what he speaks! Definitely make sure the lip around the top of the can has been wiped clean, then cover the top with Saran Wrap and make sure the lid is on tight. I also put mine in a ZipLock bag and seal it as another sealing measure. If you have a refridgerator that you can store this stuff in, do that also.

When you go to paint, wear gloves and cover-alls or clothes that you don't care if they get painted. Anything this stuff touches will be permenantly painted!

I did my whole underbody, interior, trunk, engine compartment, & subframe with approx 4 quarts. I had a lot of waste as I painted them all at separate times, and the stuff tends to cure in the can. The plastic wrap under the lid really helps, but once you open a can it is only good for a couple months. I have some pictures on my website, and another couple hundred on my PC if you want them.

Hey Ram,
I've had open pints stay wet for many months once the top is sealed and it's in a Ziplock bag. I've got one that's ayear old now. Granted, they were refridgerated also. As long as the fridge is kept at a dry setting.
Maybe it makes a difference?

I did the entire car, inside & out, tailpan to firewall and even the sub-frame with two quarts of black and it took 1/2 quart of grey for the trunk, tank and various suspension pieces and I still have some left. Just my .02

Thanks alot, so I guess it should be enough to do everything with 3 quarts.

ramcda, I am interested in those pictures you have on your pc. I have broadband internet connection so that shouldn't be a problem. If it is possible for you, you can e-mail me some pics to camaro_crew@graffiti.net this account has 10mb free space. Maybe you can make a zip-file out of some pics so you only have 1 file to send me. Thanks in advance
