Did a search and didnt come up with anything. The first few minutes I drive my car the tranny slips. Thats reverse and drive both. After it warms up I have no problems at all. Any ideas on what it could be, or are there too many variables. Thanks, Darren

Color of fluid on stick is? Use a white towel to check. Smells like?
If its a little brown, you might consider dropping the pan, changing the filter and adding clean oil. You'll have to support either the trans at the tailshaft housing or at the engine oil pan because the trans crossmember has to be unbolted and slid back to gain access to the rear pan bolts.
You should check the cable adjustment also at the carb. There is a fitting, er, plug, on the driver's side of the case about midway up. This is a pressure port for a 1-200 PSI gauge. This measures the oil pump pressure before entering the valve body. It may be alittle low due to pump clearances or a weak pressure relief spring. It eludes me what the pressure should read, 180?, I think.
There are also plugs on the passenger side of the case to monitor oil pressure as the trans is shifted through the gears. Most any trans shop could tell you the pressures. Reverse gear is ungodly high, 240-260 PSI. A local trans parts shop here sells ATF books for each particular model of trans, usually priced $20 USD. Central Library would be another place of reference.
