Hi, I have been reading old postings, finding out about paint guns. I only have a 2 hp, 20 gal. tank air compressor. Does any one know if a Sharpe Platinum will work well with this air supply? Is there a cheaper $$$ gun that will spray well for less money. Thanks!

hey i am not sure about the platinum, but sears craftsmen sells a hvlp gub which is made by devilbiss,it comes with a 1.8 and 2.2 tip which you would only use on primer but your local devilbss dealer will have a 1.4 mm tip to spray base/clear systems, it says craftsman on handle but extra fluid tip you get, is in a devilbis box. i use this gun for sealer now as i have a sata rp jet digital, but for 175.00 bucks the craftsman sprays nicely. use 20-23 psi at the gun to spray, not the 8-10 they reccomend, the gun will cut the 20 psi down by the time it sprays it. if you spray with 8-10 psi at gun you will have serious orange peel and work very slow.

Thanks for the response. I found a web site that sells videos on the subject. I'm just trying to do as much research as I can this time around, before I make any purchases.
