: Value?? RS/SS
Radcannon Feb 8th, 06, 04:32 PM I have a 1967 Camaro RS/SS with a 350, power windows, 4 spd, tach, console gauges and console, exterior chrome trime pieces, deluxe belts, interior decor, tinted glass, and antenna It is lemans blue with black interior its an older model.
Everything matches and i am getting ready for a full restoration. Some of the parts are not original but i managed to get all date matching correct parts. I am working on the 12 bolt still. Nada says when i finish it should be worth 52,000 but i thought that was high and i was wondering what you guys thought.
Also i am spending a little over 5 grand for a new paint job and some minor body work like door skins and rockers and weld repairs. I was wondering if this was worth it also. Its one of the top places in the area that is still not outrageously priced. Infact their three cars they did that was in the local car show got 1,2, and 3rd.
Hylton Feb 8th, 06, 04:41 PM Low to mid 30's once painted.
Radcannon Feb 8th, 06, 04:49 PM Does the repaint affect price?? Also does the fact that i had to find a couple of parts?
Hylton Feb 8th, 06, 04:54 PM You can never beat an original paint job in excellent shape. Having said that, if the paint is worn, faded or cracked and some rust has developed on the car, a new paint job will certainly improve the look and value of the car. What is more important is the quality of the paint job (orange peel, proper masking, correct paint colors and finishes).
thorpe67RS Feb 8th, 06, 05:11 PM As has been said many times on here before..its worth what someone is willing to pay. If your doing a full restoration on a numbers matching RS/SS low 30s in my opinion would be on the low side of what its worth. 52k however is way high.
Hylton Feb 8th, 06, 05:21 PM Unfortunately 67's and 68's just don't bring the coin like the 69's do. Assuming this car is worth 40k, what would the same car (RS/SS350) as a 69 bring? 50? No way. That is why I say low to mid 30's. Pat Railsback has a BB '68 that is one of the most loaded 68 big blocks in the country for sale here in the classified section at $39,500. The car is mostly all original. You don't see guys beating down his door for it. If it was a 69, it would be sold 5 minutes after he posted it for 40k.
I have many different year Camaro's at least one for every generation so I am not trying to insult anyone as I face the same thing if I was selling a Camaro that was not a '69.
Like the old saying says "There are 2 types of Camaros, those that are 69's and those that aren't"

Cant sat i neccessarily agree with that. I would agree that there are two types of Camaros..first gens and those that arent. I do understand that 69s do go for a bit more and are generally seen as more desirable to many. Which is weird for me as they are my least favorite of the 3 years. Anyway, not arguing either. If that car in a 69 is worth at least 40k maybe low 40s, the the 67 has to be worth at least mid 30s. Or..... maybe not...whos to say with some of the crazy things that go on today with these cars and prices.

Its sad that that is kind of true for most people considering teh first generation eras. Espeicallty when you look at the production numbers of how much rarer so many of the 67's were compared to the 69's numbers. 602 Z28's in 67 of which only 146 are known to exist today, and 20,614 of which over 4,000 are known to be left this is still almost 8 times the numbers of 67 every made. In my book 69's are the most appealing but 67's are the rarest and most attractive collector.
