: Vent Window Replacement

I purchased my 67 part way through restoration. The passenger door had been replaced and I got a spare door with it for parts. The existing door doesn't have the vent window on it, the vent window on my spare has the bottom pivot pin busted.

I heard you can't by replacement windows cause there isn't a huge demand for them. I was told the scrap yard is the place to go. Any ideas/experience finding replacements or even fixing them? Welding a new piece is an option, but I don't know how good it would work. I don't think I'll have alot to choose from in the scrap yards.....

Any ideas????

There are lots of vent window assy's. out there. If you welded that post back on, the angle of the dangle would have to be perfect so the vent would close correctly. I personally would go look for another frame. I might even have 1 if your interested.

Thanks. I'll have to look around and see if I can find one.

Good point on the welding, I'd hate to go through that hassle and find out the window doesn't open right!!!!
