Having trouble determining what the rearend in my '68 is originally from (though I believe it came original in the car). It's an 8.2 inch 10 bolt with the upside down V in the cover and A 2.73 non-posi carrier. The problem area is the flanges on the ends where the drums originally bolted up. They're square, and all 4 holes are equidistant at just under 3.25 inches. This has made it really difficult for me to get the right brackets in my disc brake conversion. Anyone know what this set up might be from?

On the passenger axle tube, pointing towards the front of the car, is a two letter code. Having this decoded would help.

Probably is the original rear axle.

Is the cover round or does it have half circles on each side?If it has cut outs on the sides of the cover its a Firebird rear.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to look at the code this weekend (garage is unfortunately 2 hours from my apartment). It's just a round cover. Everything is '68 Camaro spec except the flanges at the ends of the axle tubes where the drum backing plates bolted up.
