What all is involved in tubbing a 68 camaro. As far as springs and frame rails.

Thanks,
Shane

That's referred to as "butchering" and we don't speak that language here! http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Gee, that's a little harsh! There should be room for everyone here and we do indeed routinely talk about all kinds of modifications to our cars.

Check out "www.detroitspeed.com" and look at the projects. These guys have done some mini-tubs and have some pictures - there's even a '68 with a mini-tub. DSE can also talk with you about frame mods, shock re-location, etc.

I think that Cavemate was joking... I think...

I agree with RockyMtnRacer, check out DS&E's website. They have some great step by step photos of a mini-tubbing. If you want to go all out for a pro-street type car though, you are going to need to move the frame rails I would imagine.

RockyMtn, A http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif at the end of a comment automatically erases any and all suspicions of harshness. Please refer to the handbook.. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

There is a nice pictorial layout of tubbing at www.bigblockdart.com (http://www.bigblockdart.com) , look through the selections about two thirds down on the right and you will see the link to Narrowed Rear and Tubs in the Suspension section. I minitubbed my 68 pretty much the same way it was done in the Dart website, its pretty easy to cut but a little more difficult to do the tin work. Good Luck!
