i have a 350 67 engine its been out a while and it has crap all over it like oil and stuff. I dont want to acid dip it because i have my pistons and crank in it and i dont want to take htem out because id have to rebore it or hone it. Do you guys have any ideas?

Permatex Spray gasket remover. This will strip everything! Grease, Grim, Paint, you name it. Make sure you remove anything you don't want stripped. Spray the rest, let it soak a few minutes, hose it off. I pulled the engine out of a '67 Fairlane, sprayed the whole engine compartment, hosed it down, preped it and shot the primer and paint. Works great! Phil

Oven cleaner works pretty good, too.

I used a jug of purple power from walmart on mine it worked great

Try the oven cleaner. You will be amazed.
