installed the doors on the camaro today and found out that the repo door strikers i have are just a tad too long and they hit the door insted of the latch. I could only find one of my old ones and it worked perfect. are there different sizes?

Yes, there are many different sizes. Some may even be the same overall length but have a longer head. Also are you using the same amount of washers per side as when you took it apart? Compare the new one to your old one and you'll easily see if they're different.
