can a water pump be stored dry after use without damage?
i have a chance to buy an edelbrock 8811 victor series pump for a good price,but have no way of knowing how long it was stored.

Makes no difference - water pumps use sealed pre-lubricated bearings; water pumps haven't used coolant to lubricate the seals for 50 years. :thumbsup:

That's what I always thought..
I was told to store the pumps submerged in water while they were off the engine to stop the seal/s drying out.. It didn't really make sense, but the guy who told me claims when he didn't submerge pumps, most would leak when returned to use.
