Help. My trunk lid is in excellent condition with no rust except under the back channel where the weather stripping touches it. I have rust holes and gaps along the entire rear channel. I can cut out the rust but then I need to fill in the channel so it seals against the wheather stripping again. What do you recommend. (The previous owner used bondo which was a disaster.)

On parts such as a dick lid which are so easy to replace and relativly cheap, i would consider replacement. If you weigh out the time its going to take you to repair it. But if you opt to repair, you need to grind and cut all the rust out. The get a piece of sheet metal and weld it in place.

Yes, I am considering replacing the deck lid. After reading so many posts about how replacement sheet metal parts don't fit, including deck lids and hoods, I was worried I would have more work trying to get a new one to fit properly. Are some of the replacement deck lids better than others or are they all about the same?

Im honestly not too sure. I havent had to replace any panels on my car. I know there is a company, i foget the name. Starts w/ an M. I always see good things about them. Maybe someone else can help ya out..
PS, if need be, i have 2 old decklids which are original OEM. They have a good amount of surface rust, but no holes.

Mike - Do you have pictures and how much would you want for one? I am not giving up on mine just yet, but after some cutting and welding, yours may start to look pretty good.
