My Son and I had a victory tonight I just had to pass along. For awhile we've been trying to get the rear frame rails to match spec measurements. It seemed everything we tried with those frame rails didn't help. After much thought, I decided to check our front firewall master gage hole to rear frame rail front master gage hole measurements. I think it was "G" in the book. Anyways, we were 1/2" shorter on one side than the other. This is almost exactly the amount we were off in the back.
We're in the process of massaging that "G" dimension and are within 1/8" of spec when we called it quits for tonight. Hooray!
Looking at it now, I wonder why I didn't see it sooner as it is a simple relationship. But never having never done this before had a lot to do with it. I'm just glad we had the patience to not just plow ahead with the MIG.
It looks like I won't have to be posting any more frame rail measurement questions (I hope!).
Again, thanks to all who have helped us out so far on our project.
