View Full Version : Anyone ever had trouble with the O.E.R Dash pad 69 350 SS Feb 16th, 06, 09:03 PM as per title I got a OER brand dash pad for my 69 and it aint the best fit ! Anyone else had this problem ? Kurt Rack Man Feb 16th, 06, 09:30 PM I just put an OER one on my 69 and was shocked at how well it did fit...My only real complaint is that the new snap in clips were'nt all that great and didn't hold the pad down as tight as I would have liked...Other than that the fit was perfect! Dan 69L65-4spd Feb 17th, 06, 12:22 AM Not to highjack your post or anything, but how many companies currently reproduce the 69 dash pad? When I was putting together my car back in the late 80's, I wasn't really knowledgable (sp?) and ended up with a pad that was just a chunk of molded rubber with no metal reinforcement. Well, it now has a big split in it above the clock and needs replacing. The only catalog that I have is a Rick's and I believe that they only show the one from O.E.R.. Suggestions?? Thx J.R. bil1024 Feb 17th, 06, 06:08 AM MIne went in well, just those plastic end snap clips are not that great Camaro Dave Feb 17th, 06, 11:43 PM I just bought an OER dash for my 68, fits well. OER has a new and improved dash pad with a threaded stud instead of the plastic clips. Joe Harrison Feb 18th, 06, 07:42 AM Good to hear these are improving. I had one for a 68 and it fit like dog poop. I hope they keep improving these repop parts (repoop...lol) because originals are just to hard to find and getting expensive. Joe 69 350 SS Feb 19th, 06, 02:47 PM its as though its too narrow ??? Maybe I'll just give it to the trimmer and let him see what he thinks ? 69rag327 Feb 19th, 06, 06:43 PM I got the OER. But didn't you guys find that it should be at least half and inch longer on drivers side? Passenger side fit nice, but they could have done better. Yes bolt upgrade is nice though... 69 350 SS Feb 19th, 06, 07:32 PM I got the OER. But didn't you guys find that it should be at least half and inch longer on drivers side? What else can you do? I believe I brought this issue up on this forum last spring and was told that the stock one is not much better. Someone took measurements I believe. My car is a driver (literally to work). I wasn't pleased but didn't lose any sleep over it. After all, what do you want for $100. Good luck. 69 350 SS Feb 20th, 06, 07:34 PM Live with it. If thats how they are from factory fair enough !!!!!! what can you do ?? 69L65-4spd Feb 21st, 06, 02:23 AM [ After all, what do you want for $100. Good luck.[/QUOTE] I don't have a catalog in front of me but as I recall, Rick's wants about $230 for these things. I need a new dash pad and I'd pay a bit more if I knew that I was getting one that was going to fit. Although costs is always a concern, who would you buy from? NPD, Classic, Year 1? Is there anyone besides OER that reproduces these pads? Any satisfied buyers? How does it fit? J.R. |
