What is the color of a grill in a '69 Z28?
I've seen both black and gray.
Is there a differance between a "standard" and "deluxe" exterior package.

All 69 Camaro (COPO and Z/28 included) grilles are supposed to be body color outside with silver inside the chrome moulding unless the car is an SS and/or RS - then they are Black, except if the SS and/or RS is Black in body color then the grill is silver. Z/28 combined with RS follows RS convention.
You hardly ever see Z/28's anymore with the grill painted correctly. This is how they were supposed to be but I have heard of some possible exceptions in practice. I think the black ones were moulded in black while the silver ones were moulded in off white and painted silver but don't quote me on that.
Deluxe included chrome trim on the front of the plastic headlight bucket rings. I think RS cars may have had extra chrome trim on the turn signal lenses too.

In the years I've cruised the various Camaro bbs, this is the first mention I can recall of the bright-trimmed '69 RS parking lenses.
I had a '69 Z/28-RS that did not have them and I wondered if it was correct. Early ordrering info (dtd 7-68) for the RS package states they were included. The 12-68 rev makes no mention of them, probably discontinued due to a supply problem.

I think they were available for the first part of the 69 production year then discontinued prior to Jan 69. The outside of the lens is painted argent silver.
