Hi Guys, looking for your opinion on when the change occurred from metal to plastic seat backs. I own two '67s that were built at Norwood in April of 1967. They both have metal backs. I was wondering when you thought the change took place. Thanks, Gary

My 01E has metal backs. I can't gaurantee they are the original seats though.

I have a 05E car and the seats have the metal backs but I can't be sure they were the orig seats but they sure mached the rest of the int. as far as the shape they are in. I also know somone that has a car built the same week as mine and he is the orig owner and orig seats and his are plastic. CRG may have a section on this.

My 03D car has the metal seat backs. I saw an 04C car with deluxe interior and it had one metal seat back and one plastic seat back. The owner stated he thought it was original to the car. Can not be sure of it. The plastic and metal seatbacks attached differently at the top so can not say for certain it was correct. Stranger things have been found.
