: Verifying sizes before I order

I'm getting ready to place an order for wheels and just wanted to double/triple check that I'm using the right sizes. I know that this had been beat to death... I've been reading all of the various posts for several weeks now and I think I have the right combination.

Front
17x8 with 4.75 backspace 235/45R17

Rear
17x9.5 with 5.5 backspace 275/40R17

The big unknown here is that I am planning on upgrading to Baer brakes both front and rear. I'm going to go with the 13" Track up front and 12" Sport in the rear. My concern is wheel fitment after the brakes go on. Should I wait until I complete the brake upgrade before buying the wheels? I'm hoping someone has already tried this combination and can guide me in the right direction. The brakes are on order and are about 6-8 weeks away.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I'm running the same Baer brakes and this is what I am running

Front
17x8 with 4 7/8" backspace 235/45R17 (245/45R17s would also fit)

Rear
17x9.5 with 5.5 backspace 275/40R17

Its your call as to whether you want to wait, but I did order my brakes and rims at the same time. I ordered my rime through DSE and they recommended the above dimensions.

That's the backspacing I used before I mini-tubbed. It worked great for me and I have the same brake setup. :)

Rick,

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been researching for weeks and I'm confident that the combo you have listed above will work. That is exactly what I will be using. Although the pucker factor will be really high the day that I put the wheel on for the first time!

Rod, In a previous post you said "I am going with 17" Cobalt Fat Lip series, since X series will not clear the 13" Baer front brakes (calipers)". I believe the Fat Lip is a special-special order if you want 9.5's. Did you have any problems with this? Any info here would be appreciated!

I've been checking on prices for Budnik wheels and the best price that I can find for the Driver Series Hammer is $381.38 per wheel. What do you guys think? I called DSE first and they were $435.29 (that was my "special price").

Rick, sorry for hijacking the post.
