I have two holes that I need to fill on the body of my '68. The first is on the lower corner where the uni-body and front quarter meet. The hole is on the on the bottom portion of the body as it rolls under. It's not visible when the quarter is in place however. What's a good, solid repair for that? The other place is inside the driver's door frame on the body. It's on the lower portion of the vertical door jam just before it flattens out horizontally. Any suggestions?

If I'm reading your post correctly, you are speaking of the lower cowl area (the portion of the car where the doors bolt on). If this is the case, that's the part of the car that everything else in built off of. It has to maintain it's strenght in order for the remainder of the parts to line up correctly. Proper guage replacement metal can be critical in this area an the repairs must be exact. Do your doors sag at all? There can be other problems that will cause door sag such as bad hinges, but if the cowl area has rusted out to the point of causing door sag, you might want to consider professional help in repairing this area.
If you feel you can make the repairs yourself, use at least 18 guage metal and pre-form it prior to welding it in.
It's hard to tell the extent of your problem without actually seeing the car.
One other thing I should mention is the area around a weld can sometimes fatigue from becoming brittle due to the heat of the welding. You wouldn't want that to happen in an area where the door bolts up.
I'm sorry if I sound like an alarmist. I just don't want to see you have more problems after the repairs are completed.

Thanks for the response. The doors are not sagging due to this hole, I believe
it's the original hinges that are doing that a little. The hole is rather small @ 2-3" but not near where the doors hinges connect. I will however have it filled with 18 GA to help support it. Any thoughts on the door area? Thanks.

sounds like the area where the water is supposed to drain out after coming in from the vents in front of the windshield. My passenger side has this problem too. I cleaned alot of debris from the bottom of this area when I removed the kickpanels.
