Here are the numbers on my Saginaw 4 speed. 1968 Camaro.

Drivers side: GM 3920798
Passengers side: GM3 3890564

Not sure what you're looking for. You already know the trans is a "Saggy". The 3920798 is the casting number for the side cover and was used in 68 and 69 on the Saginaw cast iron 4 speed. The 3890564 I can't find, but I'm assuming it's on a tag attached to the transmission? If so, it's the original part number for the trans.

What #'s would you need to date this Saginaw? My car was built 2 week of December 1967, so I was wondering if this is the correct tranny for this car. This is an interesting car with all SS options except a Saginaw transmission. If you need more info to date this tranny I can get it in the morning.

The 3890564 is a main case number from 1966. My book says the main case number for 1968 should be 3925656 which is the same as 1969.

OOPS! Yeah, missed it. 1966 Main Case... This shows that the transmision (or, at least the main case) is not original to your car. your car could still have come with a Saginaw, and what you have is what's left after a rebuild, but there's no way to verify this.
