I have a 69 Camaro convertible that I put 15" ralley wheels and Eagle tires on and although it looks pretty nice the way the tires fill up the wheel wells, the front tires hit the frame when I steer hard. I tried spacers but then the tires hit the fenders...

I am considering putting 14 inch tires and wheels back on but may go with some custom mag wheel other than ralley rims but I am concerned about getting a wheel that has the correct depth so that the tires fit right with no rubbing...

How wide were the factory ralley wheels for the 69 and and how deep (from the mounting holes to the edge of the rim closest to the frame) were they?

What is the correct tire size that I should use on these types of rims?

Does anyone have any suggestions of a good looking wheel for this car that won't break the old piggy bank?

Thanks

How wide are the tires that you have on there now? I have 215/60/R15's on my front end with no rubbing. The 67's might be different as far as wheel well space though. Also, since you have a convertible it might be different as well. I think the best solution is to keep your 15'' rims but go with a thinner tire.
