Does anyone have a hard pedal sometimes ?? Im looking for an Electric Vacuum Pump for my brake system that I cant find. My brakes are hard sometimes and it is because my motor has a big cam and it does not produce enough vacuum to work my power brakes. What Im looking for is an old style GM vacuum pump that was discontinued that has a built in pressure switch to turn on and off automatically. I have searched and it is not available. The reason Im looking for this particular one is because it is small. Ones available are too big. Any one know where I can find one ??? PM me if you have a good lead. Has anyone had this same problem and installed a pump to correct it ??? How does it work for you ??? Are you happy with it ??? Any help is greatly apprecieated... Here is a link.... That I found with info about the pump. It lists donor cars also but... I cant find a donor car to get one off of anywhere.... HELP HELP !!! http://www.california.com/~eagle/figs/vacpump/vac.html

Look at diesel chevy p/u trucks and land yatch Cadilacs (& some Olds Delta 88's pushing 5000 lbs) for a factory electric setup that is plug and play with stock brakes. Needs a 20 amp circuit though.

The cadillac pump is no good... It runs non stop. There is no vacuum pressure switch on those pumps. I have looked around and I cant find any at the wrecking yards.

Just buy a vacuum/pressure switch from MSC and use it with any vacuum pump.

Good luck trying to find one, it's tough. IMO, when it comes to brakes, you don't want to skimp and buy used. The couple of bucks you save when buying used doesn't go far when body damage is involved.
