Easy one for you pros -

Which goes in first? The bottom or the back? I have the back in and can't get the bottom back far enough to hook.

Thanks

Your doing it in the right order, have a red bull and try it again, it'll go.

DREID, Sounds like we are at the same stage in our restoration. It has been four long years for me but I have enjoyed every minute. My seats are at the upholstery shop and should be ready in a week or so. I'm restoring an original 68 RSSS BB AC Auto with only 52000 miles. Also, my front seats have the rare headrest option. I think there were only 2200 or so in 68 that got headrest. I'll have to keep in mind the process you have gone through to get the backseat installed. Good Luck!!!

DREID,
thats one way of putting it, just go low. Never thought about it but it very well may be easier w/o front seats if you are a larger guy, good luck.

When I was removing my back seat bottom, I had a hard time pushing the left side back far enough to disengage. I eventually put a big wrench (like 3/4 or so) against the tab that hooks to the hook on the floor and pushed it with my foot as I braced myself against the dash. Only way I could get it back far enough. I figure I’m going to have to do the same to re-install it.
