My blower fan on my 67 original a/c unit seems to be pathetic. Can anyone out there tell me? If you put your fan on HIGH & put the defroster on, & you put a lit match up by the windshield defroster vent, would it blow the match out? Mine will not at all, the flame would just laugh at the blower's strength. Is there a more powerful aftermarket replacement unit available? Is there one that will blow about as hard as a modern car's blower fan?? Thanks.

I wonder if your high setting isnt working? a/c fans have a final high speed thats much stronger and should at least make a match flicker.. maybe the diverter flapper isnt closing all the way and still tossing air down to the floor instead of all at the windshield?

What I just figured out today is that when I put my a/c switch into the "high" position, the blower goes back to blowing "low." So now I have 4 setting for my defrost blower: 1) the system is off, 2) equals low, 3) medium, 4) blower goes back to blowing "low" There are a number of "switches" all those wires plug into here & there on the a/c system. I don't really have any idea which one might be causing the problem. Any way, the blower not going to "high" is the main problem. The second is that I need to seal up all that duct work under the dash better. The little vacume door flaps appear to work just fine. Thanks

Did you check the fuse that is in the white plastic connector in hte engine compartment going to the fan relays? It is connected to the thick red wire that routes from the horn relay to the relays.
