Since I can't seem to find a general concensus on final ride height for Hotchkis 2" lowering springs for a 69, I'm looking at Eibach springs. Maybe there's less variability because fewer people use them, but it looks like they lower about 1-1.5", which is perfect for me. I think they are about 500lbs compared to 600 for hotchkis (correct me if I'm wrong). My question is this:

If I go with Eibachs, would the hotchkis revalved Bilsteins still work well with them or does anyone know of another good shock that would be better tuned to the Eibach's rate? Edelbrock's appear to get good feedback, but I don't know what rate they're tuned for. Don't suggest KYB because I've had them and will not use them again. BTW, it's has an aluminum head small block. You might be thinking, "Why not just use Hotchkis springs with the revalved Bilstein's?" I would like to, but I'm just asking the question about the Eibach's in case I use them.

Cuda -

I just ran the premium AC Delco gas charged shocks with my Eibachs, and they damped fine.

The lowering amount of the Eibachs depends on what's in the car now. I had tired OE springs in my iron headed SB 68, and it only dropped about 0.5". They are a nice spring that handle but don't beat you up too bad.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I installed the Hotchkis 2" drop springs and matching revalved Bilstein's in the front. WOW! What a difference. I think the way it rides and handles almost could not be improved upon. Regretably, though, I think it sits too low now and I was considering getting thte Eibach's, which reportedly would sit about and inch higher. That would be about perfect. The question is: Shouldn't the Eibachs work pretty well with the Bilstein's (which I won't replace)? From what I could gather, they appear to have pretty similar rates to the Hotchkis. I hate to even consider this since all the work I've done has resulted in such a great driving experience, but the look is not growing on me. After much thought and examination, I think an inch higher or so would be just about right. I'm not going through the hassle of experimenting with cutting springs down a little at a time. I just simply won't have the time or patience for it for quite awhile. Comments? Suggestions?

I bought koni classics and will install them together with Eibachs in the summer. I will buy the Eibachs for the same reason you mentioned. Unfortunately I can't speak out of own experience, but hope this is a good match.
