OK, I was asked for pics.....You love pics.......
Does this look real?
Black69 Feb 25th, 06, 06:44 PM One of the rivets on your VIN is wrong. They both should be a rosette type of rivet. The one on the left is OK but the one on the right side is wrong.
67L78conv Feb 25th, 06, 08:17 PM Looks pretty darn good from my point of view. Vin verse date looks good, etc. Except for the rivet that was already mentioned.
In fact its less than two weeks away from my cars build.
Where in Jersey are you if you do not mind my asking? Based on the pick looks like you are down in the Pine Barrens, mayby Lacey Twp. area.
67CruiseMasterCamaro Feb 25th, 06, 11:46 PM Tag is for real. The motor stamp pad is clearly unreadable though. Anyway to clean it up to get a good look?
heatsinker Feb 26th, 06, 04:08 AM thanks friends- I suppose a more conserted effort is required to the clean up the motor stamp. I will see what I can do with it. I don't think I can get a tranny # pic, I can't get into the bell housing area...does the motor/tranny need to be pulled?
I live in Manchester twp., (west of Toms River-South of Jackson). Where are you 67L78? I work in the Newark area.
thanks again,
Keith
JohnZ Feb 28th, 06, 06:24 PM Very nice! But I'd get rid of those pieces of rubber hose and the glass fuel filter between the fuel pump and carb - they're a fire waiting to happen.
Ted Grevers Feb 28th, 06, 06:32 PM Did the SS in 67 have power brakes?

heatsinker Feb 28th, 06, 08:02 PM Thanks Friends- It appears that I am the proud owner of an original 67 L-35 SS, It's been a long day. Spent 4+ hours with a team member trying to validate the car. I understand that it will take considerable work to get her show worthy, If thats the path I should choose. I will enjoy her this summer and need to make my decision about grade of restoration I will persue. Any restoration will cost a great deal.........I would appreciate hearing from those who wish to offer opinions.

No sir, it was a seperate option available on any car.
67L78conv Mar 2nd, 06, 12:47 PM Just a quick note to say I was the one that checked out Keiths car the other day. Car looks legit and has the correct engine to boot. Here's a pic of the deck stampings, the marks are hard to see but there is no evidence of it ever being decked.

67L78conv Mar 3rd, 06, 06:09 AM No problem, I hope you enjoy the car as much as most of us enjoy ours.
