I am trying to identify a 12 bolt and I have not had much luck
The casting number appears to be “3869341” and the number stamped in the axle tube is “C OU 0203G1”. The date code appears to be “A 16 0”. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Steve,

You have a 1970 Camaro 3:31 (non-posi), cast on January 16th, 1970, and assembled on February 3rd, 1970 by the first shift at the Detroit Gear and Axle plant.

Thanks Ed.
I guess that is why it appears to be a little wide for my 68.

Steve,

Your 70 rear end is 55.25" (flange to flange), -vs- the 67-69 rear end of 54.25". Since it's only an inch difference (half an inch on each side), unless you're going for a restoration, keep it. It's really not that big a deal. And 3.31 gears are good for all around driving.

Ed,
Well it has a 4.10 gear, a little much for me. I am considering mini tubing the car and I would hate to cut a 12 bolt so I will probably sell this and build a 9 inch

Ed,
Are the spring perches in the same location between 1st and 2nd generation?

No, the perches are also wider on the 2nd gen camaros. Kevin

any idea what a 70 12 bolt with 67-69 located purches would be worth?
