I know everyone is probably getting sick of quarter panel questions, but I am fairly new to this board and after looking over many of the responses and questions, I respect your opinions.---I need to replace the quarters on my 69 convertible. Like everyone else, I'd love NOS, but they're too expensive. I assumed I'd use OER full quarters, but was looking in "Rick's" catalog today and saw 80% quarters. The 80% quarters don't really have much less metal than full OER convertible panels (not a complete door opening). Has anyone used these? Are they just as good as OER full panels or are they pretty much junk? Any help from those who have already been through this would be great!

Man reading that thread got me fired up. I've never done any body work or welding but I called the local voctech school the other day and I'm gonna take a welding class this fall. Then any autobody class I can find. Any other suggestions on how to get some experience in doing that stuff? I'm too old to change careers but in a few years I can give up this computer stuff and I want a new retirement hobby.

ochrisl,

Thanks for the thread. There was some good information there that should help. Unfortunately, there wasn't any info regarding the quality of 80% quarters for 69 camaro's.
