I am building my brothers camaro for him while he is in the Marines, it's a 67 ss. I am starting at the rear by doing a DSE mini tub, with comp engineering shock relocaters subframes, yada, yada. He wants the car to drag decently with a 325/50 drag radial out back, but also wants it to handle well on the twistys,

so my question is basically on spring choice, do I need to upgrade the stock leaf springs for what we want to do. Coil overs are probably out due to cost and a mono leaf drag spring would probably not be the best for all around driving off the track so what do y'all recommend for a middle of the road performance rear suspension good for cruising, occasional drags, and occasional twistys, but not road race extreme in that category. thanks

hotchkins has a complete kit (TVS) that has rear springs that are setup to drop the rear and make it handle better. i think you can buy them seperate from the rest of the kit. check out their website. you can also rebuild your multis and add poly bushings and that would make a vast improvement.

There were no multileafs on a 67. He's starting with a mono.

It has a multi leaf right now, so was this an upgrade somewhere in its life?? I know my brother who has owned it for the last 11 years never touched the suspension...

Yep, if it has multi leafs, it's been upgraded since it was born. No 67's came from the factory with multi leafs.
