Does anyone one know what size or type of steering coupler I will need with a Flaming River tilt in a 67 Camaro with power steering? I have a new rebuilt steering box for a 67 and a new stock rag joint. I bought the rag joint before I got the idea of the tilt column. Maybe someone can help me and I can get it included with my order if someone has the answer quickly.

General Motors designed an energy absorbing tilt column for the 1967-68 first generation Camaro. Since this column was specifically designed to collapse and absorb energy in a severe frontal collision, I hate to see people replacing it with a rigid design column on vehicles that are driven on the public highways.
General Motors and Saginaw Steering Gear conducted hundreds of laboratory and vehicle tests to insure that the vehicle and steering column acted together to protect the driver. The only way to insure that you have this type of safety protection is to use the orginal first generation standard (non-adjustable) column or the tilt column that was designed for your Camaro.
I realize that the specific two year (1967-68) type columns are becoming very hard to find. But from a safety standpoint, I think that it is worth searching for the right column.
