right now my compressor is on the driver side with a long ugle hose all the way across the motor to the other side of the firewall...i dont know if this is liek that on all 69's but i hate it...my boss has a 68 and it is on the passenger side and is alot neater....o by the way this is stock a/c....so can i jsut buy the brakets for the 68 and move the compresser to the passenger side and the alternator to the drivers side and jsut get a new hose made....i think this would look a whole lot better....any thoughts

That's the way they are on 69s.. The hose goes from the LH side mounted evaporator, across the engine (SBC or BBC), over to the compressor mounted on the RH side.
Unless you mount the compressor on the left and modify your plumbing from your condensor, I don't see how you can avoid it.

And mounting your compressor on the left with a 69's long water pump, and relocating other engine accesories to accomodate it is entirely another can of worms.

Your hose might look nicer if you Armour All it! :p
