Ive been restoring a 69 cam. for a client and he has a black interior and is going with garnett red exterior. He'll be going with the stipes on the hood and deck lid. My problem is that he wants to go with white stipes. I told him that black interior dictates black stipes and white interior dictates white stripes. (I know black is the way to go) What did the factory do???

For a Garnet Red car, the default stripe color was black unless the car had a parchment vinyl top....then it was white.
Honestly, though, either would be considered "correct" in my opinion...

On a 69 RS/SS they would be hockey style stripes not the Z28 racing stripes. BUT......If ya like it do it!
With a #52 Garnet red they would be black stripes
