I just purchased a new drivers side inner rocker panel for my 69 convert from Classic Industries. Has anyone out there purchased this same part from Classic and installed it? The reason I ask is that the new rocker I got is a straight 5 ft long piece whereas the original is angled at the front near the toe section of the floorpan. The other difference is that the original rockers are both indented where the seat pans are welded. The new ones are not indented. Is this how the reproduction piece is, or does it sound like I have the wrong one? They swear at Classic that the one I have is the correct part. I know I could weld this part in and "make" it work but I don't want to create more work than needed. What do you guys think?

I think the part # changed as did the stamping but I bought the earlier ones. Yes, they were straight, etc. as you describe. They required cutting in the front/rear with some slight bending in the back to fit best. But, the gauge was great and the repair came out fine.

Thanks RickD-i'll give it a shot and install this one. It's gonna be better with the new piece installed than the way it is now-that's for sure.

Be prepared when you open it up to perhaps need some patching on the inside reinforcement ribs. Mine did - not a big deal, though.
Also, my 'new inners' were galvanized so be careful when welding.

Rick, thanks for the reply. I was able to replace the drivers side-it looks good-just need to make a few more adjustments and then I can start on the rear floor support fabrication.
