I need to remove one of the wiper arms. How do I do this without destroying the freshly painted cowl panel? Is there some special "prying" tool I can buy at an auto parts store?

Thanks,
David

67LT1,

Yes, there is a tool I got from Rick's first generation. I think it cost about $4.50. Maybe local auto parts stores have them. It works real slick. Sure beats the 2 screwdriver method, which for me always scratches the cowl paint. http://www.camaros.net/forum/mad.gif

Thanks!! and duh me.....there it is in my Rick's catalog.

I think I'll stop by Pep Boys or Autozone on the way home and see if they have such an animal before I do the order thing.

Thanks again,
David

Personally, I've used the 2 screwdriver method, and just placed a thick rag or piece of cardboard between the cowl and the screw drivers. You just have to be REAL careful. I didn't scratch the paint on my cowl.....KZ

Ok guys no one locally has a tool....so tell me

Do i use one screw driver to leverage the other while prying up on the arm?

Thanks...

A friend of mine that has a body shop showed me a trick for that.He took a T handle that had a hook type metal end on it and it almost looked like a old ice hook and put the hook thing behind the arm at the clip and pulled with one hand whyle holding on to the arm with the other and off it came.Neet tool but i dont know if you can buy one or if it was home made.ill as him tommorrow.
