On the driveshaft, they talk about :
tail bushing and yolk.
I don't understand what it is.
I understand what a yoke is.

Inside the tail cone of the transmission (that piece that bolts to the end with four bolts on an automatic or the back half of a Muncie) is a babbit clad brass bushing that supports the slip yoke on the front of the drive shaft. It is removable because the output shaft for an automatic is the input shaft for a four wheel drive auxiliary transmission. It is also how the factory makes adjustments to overall length on some vehicles (there are short and long variants of the tail cone).

A yolk is the runny yellow thing in my eggs that I like to sop up with toast.

i thought that a yolk was that wood brace that farmers put on the oxen to plow the fields? or is that a yoke:)
