I am getting ready to prepare my transmission to be cleaned and painted (or just cleaned). It is sitting in a tub right now. Can I turn this tranny over to clean the sides/underside without doing damage? This is probably a silly question, but I have never done it, and want to make sure there isn't something bad about flipping it over. I am planning to install a drain plug as well, so I plan to have the fluid out of it, but just making sure.

Yes you can flip it over . thats what you have to do to install a shift kit . I never had any problems flipping it over as long as the fluid is drained out . Scott

That is good to know. As for the shift kit, do you have a brand/type that you recommend. Can an amature do it? My motor is a pretty basic 350. Would I benefit from a shift kit, or should I just leave it like it is.
