I was ready to install the Lakewood bellhousing on my block and noticed that when the throwout bearing is clipped into the clutch fork (original GM) it is not centered in the bore. The fork is correctly clipped on the ball stud. What am I doing wrong?

From the one who knows, GMJim:
"The only area of the fork to contact the bearing are the two tabs or tangs that are 180 degrees apart. The bearing doesn't go in the fork all the way. If it did it would bind."
I asked the same question...

Thanks Eric, It makes sense. I never had a manual trans car before, so this is all new to me.
