:beers: Hey All,
been a while since I have started a topic, mainly cause I havent had much to say. The '69 is on Hiatus right now, completely stripped and ready for body work. The Problem? Can't find a decent body man that I can afford around here. Even paid one guy$60.00 to come to my house for an estimate and have't heard from him, haven't seen him nuthin.
So, you may ask yourself, what's he doing with his time. Well, I went and bought myself a stock car to compete at the local circle track. Something I always wanted to do and I got a pretty good deal on a car. It's a 4 Cylinder Cavalier and I will be racing in the "U-Car" division at Langley Speedway in Hampton VA. The car is stock except for the cage and the seat, and I am rebuilding the engine right now.
I know, it's not 350 cubic engines and the engine will sound like a ticked off weed wacker, but its something to tinker with until I get the '69 project running.
So, if any are local, look for the #17 U-Car running sometime end of April early may.
Peace all

Good luck, Dave. Maybe I'll run up and see you some Sat night, if I'm not at Northeast Dragway or Dinwiddle.

Dave, Good luck you'll have a blast. I grew up going to the dirt track races. My best friends dad was crew chief on a car back then. Are you going ot be racing asphault or dirt?

I will be racing asphalt. I raced dirt in my teens and never could get the hang of it, changing conditions and such.
We'll see how things go this year. If I can get the engine rebuilt, I should be running pretty soon. The car is ready to go, except for engine and paint. I am going to be using the car to practice my painting technique. Haven't decided on a color(most likely whatever i can get cheapest)
I just hope my wife to be (getting married in April-'round the bend) can accept another hobby. I have too many as it is.....
Never can have too much fun I say
