Here's the setup... 350 with Air-gap intake, Holley carb with 1/2" spacer. Any ideas on what size and style of air filter will work with a S.S. hood? Thanks in advance for answering this!

I been told the air gap and rpm are the same hieght? Under my SS hood, I have a sbc on 327 mounts, perf rpm, 1" spacer, edel1406 carb, and edelbrock standard drop base air cleaner with 14x3 filter. I'm REAL close. Edelbrock also sells a slightly (3/8") taller base that clears the electric choke better, that one did NOT fit. Everett#2390 Mar 15th, 06, 04:30 AM Get some clay, PlayDoh, or weather caulking strips, and roll yourself two columns of clay and stick one per rear & front fuel bowls of the carb. Shut the hood, open the hood, and measure the height. Subtract 1/2-3/4 inch for movement and you have the total height needed for an air cleaner. kcs Mar 15th, 06, 03:06 PM Thanks Jim. Everett, that is a GOOD idea. I'm sure glad I belong to this site. I learn more here on accident than I do on any given day! Thanks!!! |
