I am putting on new exhaust but afte I got the drives side into the bay and fitted I can't seem to find the key to reinstalling the zbar. What is the trick or am I just overlooking the obvious?

I am almost positive my re-popped BB Z-bar just dropped right on the frame mount after being shoved onto the block pivot.

BUT it's like standing on your head to tighen the nut on the frame mount end b/c of all the crap way down in there..

You will get it, but you do have the correct frame mount that it is mounted right??

I ask b/c I seem to remember a guy or maybe two that had this problem and it turned out that the re-popped frame mount wasn't the correct one IF I remember right????

It is the original zbar I just took off to install the new exhaust head. My problem is trying to fit it in under the steering column to reinstall.

I fed mine up from the bottom and it went in fairly easily (with the clutch linkage removed).

Fit ball end on block stud , have the other bolt and nut that go into the frame slot , loose. If you will push back the fender splash shield a little or even loosen it , you can tighten the nut up on the frame side . Its easier than trying to work from the top. Then hook up clutch pedal and fork linkage. Now is the time to add any dust seals on that z bar and pack it with some new grease. Removing the left front tire will give you added clearance and elbow room.
