Wondering if anyone has used these particular panels and your opinions. Mainly if anyone has had the same fit issues as I am having.
I am currently installing a set, along w/ outer wheel houses and trunk dropoffs. Out of the box, I was really impressed w/ the looks of the 1/4's.
I installed the driver side parts first, really expecting to have to go thru some modifications to get the door and trunk gaps right. To my surprise, the drivers side 1/4 only required a minor modifacation at the top rear corner, where it meets the left rear corner of the trunklid. Other than that the only issue with the driver side 1/4 is the trunk gap is a little wider than the factory part was, but definitely acceptable. The 1/4 to door gap is perfect w/out any mods.
SO...feeling really good w/ the way things went w/ the driver's side, I was looking forward to the passenger side.......and that's when I wake up from my dream. Again, the 1/4 to door gap is perfect. With the rear of the 1/4 fitting nicely at the taillight panel the top edge stills need to go in about 1 inch toward the decklid.
I wound up spending an extra day and a 1/2 slicing, cutting, and sectioning the rear of the passenger side 1/4 to get a decent trunk gap. and to get the rear upper corner to have the same look and angle as the driver side.
Would love to hear other's experiences w/ these particular pieces.
